Thinking Curriculum

At Mitcham Primary School we have developed a thinking-oriented and Inquiry-based approach to cater for the students’ interests and learning styles. This involves finding each student’s individual learning style, then providing opportunities to extend their learning through active engagement and application. This can include tools such as, Edward DeBono’s Thinking Hats, Gardner/Bloom’s and the 'GANAG' schema. We are currently working with American researcher Jane Pollock (http://www.learninghorizon.net/) to enable learning and remembering through explicit focuses, high yield strategies and application of understanding through thinking skills.
